I’m sure that all of you know that we have The Philadelphyinz coming this Friday to play with us at Honeymoon (FIESTA! make sure to HERE). I just wanted to take some time this week to make all of you a little more familiar with them and all the kewl things they do. First I’m going share some of the awesome edits that APT ONE has been working on
Rod – Shake It Up (DJ Apt One Remix)
Archie Bell – Any Time is Right (DJ Apt One Edit)
Fred Wesley – House Party (DJ Apt One Edit)
Finally we have an exclusive edit that APT ONE has given to us!
Also APT ONE recently did a mix for Crossfaded Bacon of old Philly Disco Jams, you can get it HERE
I end up making a lot of edits and transitions to use in my DJ sets. I don’t really give many of them out and I don’t have a good reason for that. I have been using this one for a little while now and people have been asking about it so I thought I would go ahead and give it to you.
This first one is a transition track, meaning that it goes from one tempo to another. This one goes from 100-115.
And this one is just a straight track that stays at 110 the entire time
On Tuesday all the gooonz went out to the Katy Perry show at First Ave. I was djing in the entry that night as well, with Stereo Total and Leslie and the Lys. Overall it was a ton of fun. Katy Perry had a crazy stage set up and I was able to record the whole of Hot N Cold (on my new flip mino hd hollaaaa)
Right before this she did a version of the Hokey Pokey, but I accidentally deleted it (on my new flip mino hd holllaaa). I LOL’d when she put the mic in front of the speaker and the room was filled with piercing feedback. I actually think you can hear me laughing. In the Entry Stereo Total(MYSPACE) was awesome and Leslie and the Lys(MYSPACE) did exactly what we all expected.
NEWAYYYZZZ. What kind of blog post would this be without a relevant MP3, so here is a mash up that I made a while ago.
Moongoons – I Kissed Madonna
Make sure to subscribe to our youtube channel, we will be posting up video every week from our shows.
ALSO DON’T FORGET BOMP TONIGHT!!

Here:
This is a track by Patrice Baumel called “Roar”. It is pretty cool but it’s like tech house or something, which in European means that it was made by dudes who are too cool to have a regular 4/4 bass drum under it. I read an interview with DJ Koze where he says he thinks 4/4 bass drums are lame, and tracks that have a 4/4 bass drum right away are for shitty DJs with no imagination. Yo DJ Koze, you gots my number, because I just totally put a 4/4 bass drum under this track.
If you’ve heard this track and tried to mix it into a house track it sounds like absolute shit most of the time. Now you won’t have that problem. Enjoy!
We’ve teamed up with Vs. Social Standard to make a limited run of spoke cards for all you bikers out there. They are going to be in an array of colors and all you have to do to get one is find one of us out and hope that we still have some
Here’s the one that we had last week

We have a quiet weekend, but next week is going to be crazy!! The first thing you should worry about is our Anthem Heart collab on Tuesday.

free drinks, a super limited moongoons/anthem heart collab, and more ice cream that you have ever imagined (actually there will be no ice cream)
and so i don’t leave you completely empty handed here’s a sweet wideboys song from waaay back in 2006
Wideboys – Westside 2006 Mix
if that doesn’t get you pumped with all it’s sirens and snare rolls you are probably dead
So tonight is silver+gold which happens every tuesday. Here’s the little press relase for it

However, according to T-Pain silver & gold is a new drink that he made up. From what i’ve gathered, you have to mix both silver and gold Patron and drink them at the same time.
You can share you interpretations of the song in the comments, here it is so you can analyize it

Bird Peterson has a bit of a french-housey take on Silver & Gold, that isn’t to say that I don’t like it. In fact I think that it’s made it’s way into a few mixes of mine. If you are interested in what it sounds like here it is

Hey everyone! Hotel went great last night, but unfortunately there are no pics, because Josh has been AWOL for the past week. David rocked that shit like crazy and Tom showed us that he knows his way around six strings…uhh…i mean two turntables and a computer.
So today I dj set from Thomas Bangalter from a rave-type event in Chicago waaay back in the 90′s. Here’s what the flyer looks like.

If you click on the flyer it will start the download for the set and if you don’t trust us moon goons here is the direct link: http://ravearchive.com/images/stories/audio/Thomas_Bangalter_-_Live_at_We_1998.mp3

TWIN CITIES STAND UPP!!!

Do you know what Bassline is?
Bassline house, or simply bassline, is a sub-genre of UK garage music that mixes elements of speed garage, 4×4 garage and R&B, and shares similarities to fellow sub-genres dubstep and grime from its emphasis on bass. The style originated in Sheffield in 2002, and rose to prominence during the mid-2000s in the north of England. In the early 21st century, the sound began to gain pace in popularity, with underground hits branching troughout the north-west. Even though origins of bassline came from Sheffield, Manchester adopted “Bassline” as its favourite music, with many aspiring DJ’s throwing out electro and Techno in replacement with 4×4.
This track comes from Dexplicit, producer of the infamous POW riddim. Check it:

Ok, story time kids. I used to tape shit off the radio (KMOJ) after school and sometimes on weekends. Remember home taping? You don’t? Anyway, there was this mix show on KMOJ hosted by DJ Boogie. He played these really funny juke remixes of what was then current radio hip hop. So back then, it was shit like ‘No Scrubs’ and Master P songs. Anyway, I bought one of his mixtapes at Cheapo when I was in middle school and I thought I would post some of it up on here since Juke is enjoying somewhat of a resurfacing (see Juke Jams compilation). Enjoy!

P.S. For the shady look, check out the Pajama Jam photos on his myspace.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving around in the car my brother and I share. And I was really sick of the radio so I looked around the car for a cd to pop in. And I found this blank one and put it in. In a matter of minutes, the windows were down (it was balmy) and the stereo was on blast; this little CD was DJ Benzi’s “Motivation”mixtape. Which brings me to this track. I’m not really into radio shit, mostly because 1. I don’t own a car to listen to it all the time, 2. the only way I do hear it is through this lady’s earphones on the bus (she is going to be deaf someday), and 3. I don’t live in the Souf or the suburbs no more and listening to this up here just doesn’t have the same charm. But, in a couple weeks, maybe I’ll hear this Wham! sample blaring out into the bus at 9am. For all other reasons why you’ll like this, please consult : Stuff White People Like/
